A blanket for Baby Lucero

This a cute little baby quilt for the soon to be baby girl Lucero!

They love greens, blues, and browns for their baby girl. Of course there has to be a little bit of pink! I love the way this fabric brings all of that together.

The Big Gift

This quilt was my father-in-law's present for Christmas this year. I won't go through my thought process that got me to the conclusion that I needed to make a queen size quilt in a three week period, but needless to say, when I tried to explain it my brother-in-law he was laughing.

I had my husband pick out the fabrics. I think the longest part was developing the pattern.

It is a queen size. Machine quilted in navy blue with a solid navy blue fabric on the back.

I really think they like it!

Lamp Shade Re-Re-Do

I am learning from my mistakes and it turns out that old lamp shades are really fragile. This is what happens when they get smashed!

So we had to do a little makeover. First I found a fun burlap shade at Shopko but it wouldn't match the lamp. So I had to do a little make over.

Yea for spray paint. It was super simple and it only took a few hours for a couple of  coats.

The whole project cost me $20!

Custom Quilting

I am available for custom quilting. This lady who made this quilt put the top together and I did the quilting and binding for her. It turned out so cute!

My Space

A little bit ago Etsy updated their About pages. This is the page where you can tell your customers a little bit about yourself so they can see the creator behind the merchandise.  They encouraged pictures of yourself and of the area you work in. So here is the picture I going to put up.

I think it accurately shows my working area. A messy card table set up in my living room. I keep telling my husband that it is only temporary, but it is turning into a "semi temporary, really permanent" fixture. It is always multi tasking with at least 3 different projects. One of which usually isn't mine.  Naomi here is making something that usually involves making home-made confetti out of a couple sheets of paper.
What you don't see in this picture is all the fabric storage. I have at least 3 huge tubs full of fabric and other supplies that hangout in my laundry room or under my table next to the shoes.  One of these days I am going to figure out how to organize it. But I love fabric shopping, so right now I am ok with it!
This is what works for me! I think if we had enough space for me to have my own craft room to spread everything out I would not be able to concentrate because I wouldn't be in the middle of it all!

Super Quick Lamp Shade Updo (Tutorial)

This lamp shade updo literally cost me nothing and took 15 minutes to do! I think the longest thing was waiting for the glue gun to warm up!

I started with this awesome lamp a friend gave to me because it didn't sell at her yard sale.

I cut up 2 inch strips of muslin from my scrap pile and ran it through my machine to ruffle it up. (Go here for a tutorial on the super fast way to gather fabric.)

Then I hot glued it to the top and bottom of the shade. This covered up a bunch of holes and stains that was on the shade. The rest of it was in pretty good condition, I just had to run a wet cloth over it.

How adorable is that! It is super sassy but oh so simple. Just what I like!

Olive Circles and Flowers

This quilt was so fun to make. I don't usually use theses kind of colors and patterns but it was so fun to break out of my comfort zone! I even went a step further and free motion quilted the flowers on the squares. Love it!

It is available in my Etsy Shop for purchase.

Adorable

These two were pretty fun to make. I usually find myself at the fabric store staring at the fabric wondering what I am going to do with this adorable stuff I find. Then I come home and find a pattern or make something up. It is like the fabric decides what it wants to do.

This one is going to be for an friend of mine who is about to have her first girl and she needs a dose of bright pink!

This one was two jelly rolls that found their way together. It was fun to come up with!

Even the baby loves it!

Lately...

Lately I have been just doing some smaller projects and taking a break from boutique season, but I think I am going to have to start gearing up for fall boutique season pretty soon.

This is what I have made recently...

This is a quilt block my mom requested to go in a frame. It is the first time I quilted with triangles. I think it turned out pretty good!

Miss Angela works with my husband and this is an apron I made her for Administrative Assistants day. It is frilly and fancy, just like her! She took this lovely picture for me. Thanks Angela!

Green Polka Dot Quilt

This one was fun. I don't think I have made something out of so many prints. It was fun to see it come together!

Army Bags

Another project I have been working on is some bags for my SIL. She showed me what she wanted, I drew upsome measurements, cut them out, and she sewed. It was a great way to work! We should do that more often! Anyways we made her a new purse...

and a new temple bag that will fit in her suitcase for traveling to Basic Training Graduation.

Thanks Rach!

T-Shirt Quilt

Wow! It's been awhile!
I have been busy getting ready for boutiques and working on special orders!

This one is for a lovely girl from Salt Lake. Her favorite past time is going to concerts and every time she does she buys a shirt. This is 67 shirts! Front and back.

It is queen size, double sided. I used a new quilting method called "joining." You can find more info on that here. Once I got a hold on it, it was pretty cool! Plus, it is a really heavy quilt. I think I created some new muscles the last few days, but it helped everything lay flat as I quilted.
I think it turned out pretty awesome!
